What is WebED?
WebED is a live online seminar series where attendees are invited to submit questions live to the lecturer during the Q & A portion of the program.
What is ART?
The Accessories Resource Team, ART, is the association of decorative accessory manufacturers, retailers, representatives and other professionals dedicated to promoting the home furnishings industry. Supporting and building the accessory business is our prime objective. Together, members raise awareness of decorative accessories as well as enhance the perception on the consumer level.
Founded in 1988, ART is still the only trade group representing the interests of the decorative accessories industry. Producer of the ARTS Awards, ART Conference, regional events and forums and now programming WebED, ART is a major influence in the accessory industry arena. ART educates, communicates and provides quality member services.
Why a web-based lecture series?
Home accent retailers are busier than ever and have many demands on their time. ART’s mission is to communicate and educate the industry on the issues that impact the home accents industry and WebED fills that education void by presenting topics of importance to this community.
When are the seminars?
WebED will be live on the first Tuesday of each month. If you aren’t available for the scheduled time, each seminar will be archived for more convenient viewing later (for the same cost). See the schedule for specific presentations.
Who can attend?
WebED is open to all home accent retailers, designers, manufacturers and sales reps within the home furnishings industry.
What does WebED cost?
The cost for each seminar will be $29.95 for ART members and $99.95 for non-members.

Upcoming WebEd Seminars
We have three seminars scheduled in the coming months:
“Hiring and Retaining A Great Team” — A Three Part Seminar Series
Kathryn Dager, President, Profitivity, Inc.
We believe that hiring the right people is singly the most important aspect of building and running a successful business. Companies provide little guidance on how to objectively assess competency, they use antiquated technology and often make hiring more a “crap shoot” than a well-designed, integrated system. In all 3 “acts” of this course you will learn a proven system for hiring, recruiting, interviewing and selection so you have excellent results. Your team will appreciate it, too!
Note: Each of the 3 seminars being offered stand alone and do not have to be attended in sequence.
Tuesday, May 6, 12:00 CST | Part 2 — “How Do We Attract & Screen ‘Good Employees?’”
Now that we clearly know what we are looking for we will create new ways to attract the “right” candidates. Recruiting is the function of dynamically attracting a large pool of candidates that fit your Good Employee Profile so you can screen them.
We have found that by focusing on what can be observed and heard we achieve higher levels of objectivity and clarity. We eliminate guesswork, expectations and interpretation. For example, we use the candidate’s verbal and nonverbal communications as indicators of their thoughts, actions and behavior. In this way we take the emotional elements out and make the hiring process as neutral, impartial and unbiased as possible.
Tuesday, June 3, 12:00 CST | Part 3 — “Now That We Have Them, Let’s KEEP Them!”
Together we will face the truth. Why are people leaving the company and costing the organization big money? It’s time to learn how to honestly evaluate the current “health” of the organization, create guidelines to build trust, morale and ownership and develop a strategy to keep everyone moving towards Company profit.
